Hošťalovice: Hotels and accommodations

The Church of St. Havel in Hošťalovice is an early Gothic building, probably constructed around 1300 and first documented in writing in 1349; at that time, it was a parish church. Due to its high-quality architecture and Gothic wall paintings, it is considered a monument of significant art-historical value. The wall paintings were whitewashed during the 1903 renovation.

Culture and history

The Hošťalovice war memorial to the soldiers who fell in the First World War was erected in 1934 on the initiative of the Rozkvět educational association. Since 1975, the memorial has also featured a commemorative plaque for Josef Huňáček from Březinka, who died in the Terezín concentration camp during the Second World War.

Activities and trails

Every year, Hošťalovice hosts the firefighting sports competition “O putovní pohár starosty obce Hošťalovice” in the fire attack discipline. The Hošťalovice sports complex is used particularly for sporting, social, cultural, and educational purposes.

The Partyzánská stezka trail associated with Hošťalovice is a continuous circular route with eight thematic stations and follows marked trails of the KČT. Cycle route No. 4179 passes through Hošťalovice between Březinka and Licoměřice.

Nature and local amenities

A pond lies on the northwestern edge of Hošťalovice, from which the Hošťalovický potok stream flows. Residents and holiday-home users from Hošťalovice and Březinka may fish in the Hošťalovice pond after joining the local angling association.

The municipal restaurant at the Hošťalovice sports complex has a bar that is open regularly.

Transport

Three public transport bus routes are listed for Hošťalovice: Chrudim–Ronov nad Doubravou, Hošťalovice–Přelouč, and Podhořany–Prachovice; the latter route runs only through Březinka.
