Ronov Nad Doubravou: Hotels and Accommodation

Ronov nad Doubravou presents its townscape around Chittussi Square: it measures 120 × 100 metres and is bordered by 27 houses. Railway line S27 between Čáslav and Třemošnice serves both Ronov nad Doubravou and Ronov nad Doubravou zastávka.

Culture

The present-day Church of Saint Lawrence was built between 1849 and 1852 in the pseudo-Baroque style. It features ceiling frescoes by Jaroslav Major, which copy Italian originals depicting scenes from the life of Saint Lawrence.

At No. 25 on Svatokřížská Street, the house has a late Baroque gable with a niche. The back of the niche is decorated with a shallow relief of the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus. At the lower end of Zámecká Street stand sandstone statues of Saint John of Nepomuk and Saint Procopius. They are examples of 18th-century Baroque sculpture. Svatokřížská Street is also home to the Baroque gable of Kaplanka, which can be viewed there. A memorial plaque dedicated to the musicologist Dobroslav Orel can be seen in Ronov nad Doubravou.

Moravany Chateau features a Neo-Baroque balcony and a representative late Baroque masonry stage-set gate at the main entrance. It is a free-standing late Baroque building from the end of the 18th century and belongs to the rural villa type. After a fire in the 1930s, it was rebuilt and reduced by one storey. The wider area around Ronov nad Doubravou also includes the Church of Saint George and Zámek Kačina Chateau.

Nature

Doubrava Nature Park protects the deep valley of the Doubrava River between Spačice and Ronov nad Doubravou. The landscape is characterised by steep valley slopes, a rocky riverbed and predominantly forested slopes with remnants of beech and ravine maple forests.

Mount Krkanka lies in the immediate vicinity of Ronov nad Doubravou, while Mount Bučina is in the surrounding area. Also in the immediate vicinity are Na Spravedlnosti Hill (Ronov nad Doubravou) and Višňovka Hill (Podhořany u Ronova).
