History and Culture

The first written mention of Dolany dates back to 1228. At that time, the Vladike Mikuš donated the village to Opatovice Monastery.

The Chapel of Saint Florian was built in the mid-18th century and is a protected monument. It formerly served for religious ceremonies. The Church of Saint Vojtech was built in 1913 within a single year. Near it is an information board with a map of the area around Dolany.

Local sights in Dolany include a monument to those who fell in the First World War, as well as a stone cross in the cemetery. The Opatovický Canal is a protected immovable cultural monument; the protected area encompasses the entire plot no. 669/1 in the cadastral area of Dolany u Pardubic.
