Přelouč: Hotels and Accommodation

Přelouč presents several clearly distinguishable features: historic religious buildings, an educational trail with two routes, a geological cycling route, and named landscape landmarks in the surrounding area and farther afield.

Culture

The Kostel sv. Jakuba is the oldest surviving building in Přelouč; its foundations date back to the 11th century. The building contains an early 15th-century fresco depicting Saint Peter and Saint Paul, created by an artist from the circle of Master Theodoric.

The Protestant “American” church and the parsonage were completed in 1905. The church is based on American models. Its interior is shaped like an amphitheatre and is noted for its good acoustics.

Other specific landmarks in Přelouč include the hydroelectric plant, which still partly retains its original equipment and continues to generate electricity. The birthplace of František Filipovský is located at House No. 9; he was born there on 23 September 1907.

The Naučná stezka educational trail in Přelouč offers two route options – a town route and a nature route – which run mostly through flat terrain; the nature route partly follows a dirt track.

The MAGEO geological cycling route passes 13 information panels describing the geological and natural features of the respective locations. The route is suitable for children and recreational cyclists.
