Culture and Experiences

At the Perníkářská dílna Ježibaby, visitors can watch traditional Old Bohemian gingerbread being made using carved wooden moulds. The Church of Svatý Jiří is also located in the vicinity of Ráby.

At Kunětická hora Castle, a tour leads through the historic castle palace and to a viewing tower. There is also an exhibition about the architect Dušan Jurkovič, who played a major role in the restoration of the castle. Between 1491 and 1548, Kunětická hora Castle was extensively rebuilt under Vilém and his sons Vojtěch and Jan.

Nature and Trails

The grounds surrounding Kunětická hora Castle offer year-round opportunities for walks through orchards and along forest paths around the hill. The Kunětická hora natural monument is home to saproxylic insects, especially the hermit beetle, as well as mammals and birds associated with old hollow trees. It also contains specially protected animal and plant species in rocky habitats, dry grasslands and old orchards.

A green-marked hiking trail to Kunětická hora passes through Ráby. Cycle Route 4124 runs from Pardubice Cihelna via Staré Hradiště, Brozany, Ráby and Kunětická hora towards Opatovice nad Labem.

The “(Kopaninské) [Staré Hradiště]” hill is located in the immediate vicinity of Ráby. The Kunětická hora hill and the “(Na Podbahní) [Pardubice-Ohrazenice]” hill are also nearby. The “(Chobot) [Dašice-Zminný]” hill is located in the surroundings of Ráby.

Transport

Buses from Hradec Králové and Pardubice stop at the “Ráby – Perníková chaloupka” stop, directly by the Muzeum perníku.
