Třebosice: Hotels and Accommodations

In the center of Třebosice stands the complex of Kostel Povýšení sv. Kříže on the eastern bank of the Bylanka stream. It comprises a Gothic single-nave church, a wooden polygonal bell tower, a parish house, and a barn.

Culture and Traditions

Kostel Povýšení sv. Kříže is a rural Gothic church dating from around 1290, with a preserved cycle of Gothic frescoes. The mural program depicts Saint Wenceslas, Saint Vitus, Saint Adalbert, Saint Procopius, Saint George, and the martyrdom of Saint Erasmus. A preserved Romanesque baptismal font supports the assumption that a Romanesque chapel already stood here before the Gothic church.

The Třebosice hymnal comprises 528 leaves. A bell cast in 1464 hangs in Třebosice's wooden bell tower. The wooden bell tower is one of the last typical symmetrical octagonal structures and is considered one of the most valuable examples of its kind in the Czech Republic. It is a tiered, octagonal wooden tower first mentioned in 1754; this may have been a later replacement structure.

The Masopust tradition in Třebosice was successfully revived after almost fifty years. During Masopust, the masked procession begins at the bell tower on the village square after receiving the mayor's approval and then stops at every house.
