Culture and History

The complex of the former textile factory in Brněnec has been protected as a cultural monument since November 3, 2016. In its current extent, it is the most extensive historic industrial complex in the Svitavy area.

The factory site in Brněnec was connected to a subcamp of the Gross-Rosen concentration camp, where arms production continued. Through the transport, Oskar Schindler saved approximately 1,100 to 1,200 people from death in extermination camps.

The Protestant church in Brněnec has been protected as a cultural monument since January 18, 2016. It has preserved original colored glass windows in metal frames with vertical gridding and is a small, single-nave, towerless, non-oriented building.
