The 30.5-kilometre Maštalská Trail loop runs through Proseč, Na Borkách, Posekanec (gamekeeper’s lodge), Toulovcovy Maštale, Vranice and Nová Ves u Jarošova. The 22.4-kilometre Pivnická Trail runs through Bor u Skutče, Vranice and Nová Ves u Jarošova. Both loops are described with elevation data: the Pivnická Trail has a total elevation gain of 446 metres and reaches a maximum altitude of 495 metres above sea level. The Maštalská Trail has a total elevation gain of 435 metres and reaches a maximum altitude of 556 metres above sea level.
Nature
The recreational area of Vranice belongs to the municipality of Nová Ves u Jarošova. Jarošov, which is considered a mountain, is located nearby. Also nearby are Poustecký [Makov], which is considered a hill, Škrabka, which is considered a hill, and Chotovice, which is considered a hill. In the wider regional area lies the Maštale region, with sandstone rock formations and rocky valleys that in places cut up to 60 metres deep into sandstone and the underlying crystalline rocks.
Culture and History
The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is a historic landmark of Nová Ves u Jarošova. Nová Ves u Jarošova is already mentioned in records dating from 1559; at that time, the municipality belonged to the Nové Hrady estate.
