Jevíčko is located in the northern part of the fertile Malá Haná region. The “Skrz Maló Hanó” cycling route runs through this region and is designed to lead to significant and memorable places.
Culture and History
The present-day synagogue building in Jevíčko was built in 1792 and renovated in 1907. The former Jewish synagogue in Jevíčko is now a place of worship of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church; exhibitions and concerts are also held there.
The Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Jevíčko was rebuilt in the Baroque style between 1762 and 1766. The former Augustinian monastery next to the church was probably founded as early as 1370 by the Moravian Margrave Jan.
Things to Do
The Jevíčko Municipal Circuit comprises seven stops with information panels describing the sights and historical sites in the respective surroundings. The town walking route through Jevíčko leads through the town’s heritage conservation area and to historical sights.
The Bartolomějská Pilgrimage Route connects the town of Jevíčko with the Chapel of St. Bartholomew and the sanatorium near Jevíčko. The collections of the Jevíčko Town Museum can also be viewed outside opening hours by prior telephone appointment.
Leisure
The town of Jevíčko is a partner in the Cyklookruhy project, which provides clear routes for road cycling and mountain biking tours, as well as tips on interesting destinations in Jevíčko and the surrounding area; the destinations can be visited along the routes.
The popular Žlíbka sports and leisure complex is within walking distance of the center of Jevíčko and is still actively used today, with a swimming pool and sports hall.
