Telecí: Hotels and Accommodation

Farmstead No. 16 in Telecí is an exceptionally well-preserved example of the “Polička” type of enclosed three- or four-sided farmsteads and is built almost entirely of wood.

Architectural Heritage and Village Character

The southern part of Telecí has been a village heritage conservation zone since 2005. It preserves numerous wooden houses and farm buildings that form enclosed three- or four-sided “Polička” farmsteads. In addition, two rare polygonal wooden barns have been preserved at house numbers 10 and 89.

Landscape and the Ancient Linden Tree

Telecí lies in the elongated valley of the Telecký potok stream and is part of the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area.

The Lukasova Linden, also known as the Singing Linden, in Telecí was voted Tree of the Year 2021. It is estimated to be 600 to 700 years old. An exhibition about the legends and stories associated with the Lukasova Linden has been set up in the historic cellar of the neighbouring house No. 102.

Churches and Remembrance

A freestanding bell tower, probably dating from the 16th century, stands beside the Catholic Gothic Church of St Mary Magdalene in Telecí. The Evangelical Tolerance Church in Telecí was built in 1783.

A memorial at the vicarage by the Evangelical Tolerance Church commemorates the fact that a well-known resistance organisation met there during the Second World War.

Hiking Trail

The yellow-marked Stezka Terézy Novákové hiking trail leads from Telecí via Lucký vrch to Borová u Poličky.
