AnnÃn: Hotels and Accommodation
The AnnÃn Glassworks was founded in 1796 by Augustin Muller from VatÄ›tice to produce crystal glass and small glass beads known as PateÅ™Ãky.
Glassmaking
Visitors can tour the AnnÃn Glassworks, where they can see original Czech lead crystal with traditional and modern patterns, the museum, the sales area, and the glassworks itself. They can also choose their own decoration and blow an original glass object themselves.
Culture
The Church of Saint Mauritius in MouÅ™enec above AnnÃn is one of the oldest churches in Å umava and was built after 1220 in the late Romanesque style. Rare 14th-century wall paintings were discovered in the church in 1993 and subsequently restored. On the north side of the MouÅ™enec cemetery stands a Baroque ossuary from the 18th century.
The neo-Gothic Schmid Chapel, with the crypt of the Schmid family, stands at the edge of the forest above the AnnÃn Glassworks. Glass products incorporated into its interior are valuable evidence of the history of glassmaking in AnnÃn and elsewhere in Å umava. From the parking lot by the glassworks, the Schmid Chapel can be reached by walking uphill across a meadow or via an unmarked turnoff from the road to MouÅ™enec.
History
The AnnÃn Museum of Light Fortifications is an atypical bunker on a rock above the main road from SuÅ¡ice to KaÅ¡perské Hory. It explains the reasons for the construction of Czechoslovakia’s pre-war fortifications, the combat system of the fortifications, and their wartime and post-war history.
Nature
The RadeÅ¡ovské skály educational trail, focused on geology and natural history, leads from AnnÃn.
