Chudenín originally developed as a Chod village at a border guard post on the Czech-Bavarian country road.

Culture

Since 1990, the local monuments in Chudenín have been restored. These include the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, which dates from 1834. Its roof and façade were reconstructed in 1986; a memorial lime tree stands beside the chapel.

Nature

Swimming is possible in Chudenínský rybník, and a protected tree can be visited in Chudenín. U Radošína, a geotourism attraction (geotope), is located near Chudenín. There is an abandoned amphibolite quarry there; U Radošína is also a type locality in the Domažlický Crystalline Complex area.

Routes

The “Krajinou pod Medvědí kaplí” educational trail starts and ends in Chudenín. It is managed by the Municipality of Chudenín and marked in cooperation with the KČT. Bicycle Route 2050 leads from the Fleky–Hofberg border crossing via Chudenín to Nýrsko and is 9 km long. Another bicycle route runs along Chudenínský rybník. The nearby border crossings at Svatá Kateřina (Rittsteig) and Fleky (Hofberg) enable day trips to the Bavarian side of the border and vice versa.
