Dolany: Hotels and accommodations
The branch of the Lords of Rýzmberk, who held Dolany until the 15th century, built a water castle in the village. The Church of St. Peter and Paul in Dolany was built in 1384 during the Gothic period.
Culture and history
The Jesuit college in Klatovy expanded the water castle in Dolany and adapted it for its purposes. Under the Měsíčkové of Výškov, the manor house in Dolany was rebuilt in the Renaissance style. The remaining structure of the Church of St. Peter and Paul after the reconstruction was completed in the Baroque style. The preserved older tower of the church is 32 metres high.
Memorial sites and archaeological traces
A memorial to the inhabitants who fell in the First World War was unveiled in 1920 in Dolany village square. The memorial to those who fell in the First and Second World Wars in Dolany u Klatov was recognised as a cultural monument in 2022.
Komošín, an important archaeological site with the ruins of a late medieval castle, is located in the municipality of Dolany. The ditch carved into the rock that runs around Komošín is still visible today.
Events
Performances by brass bands were part of the programme at the Dolaňáků gathering. Creative workshops for children were also offered, and refreshments were available throughout the gathering.
During the 23rd Dolaňáků gathering, individual visits to the church were possible from 12 noon to 2 p.m.
