In the center of Šimanov is the Baroque Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk. It was completely renovated in 2012.

Other religious monuments include Boží muka Šimanov, number 17; Křížek u Niebauerů, number 19, with the inscription „Chvála Kristu“; and Křížek u kapličky sv. Jana, number 20, with the inscription „Bože žehnej této obci“.

History

The first known written mention of Šimanov is an entry from 1305 concerning levies paid by its inhabitants to Windberg Premonstratensian Monastery. Historically, the inhabitants of Šimanov were known for making baskets and hampers and took their products to the markets of all the towns and small towns in the upper Otava region.

The Šimanovský potok stream flows through Šimanov. A small road between two second-class roads connects Šimanov with the surrounding area.
