Today, the Klabava Reservoir is used primarily for recreation, ensuring the minimum flow rate, and flood protection.

Nature and Water

Pod Starým hradem is designated as a nature monument in Klabava. Radyně, a mountain, is located in the vicinity of Klabava. In the immediate vicinity of Klabava are Hradiště [Dýšina], a hill, and Ostrý kámen [Dýšina], a hill. Hřeben, a mountain, is located in the wider regional vicinity of Klabava.

The Klabava Reservoir was built in 1957 to protect the iron ore mine in Ejpovice from flooding. The dam of the Klabava Reservoir is 403.6 meters long and 12.6 meters high.

History and Culture

The amateur theater ensemble “Mošna” existed in Klabava from 1898 to 1964 and performed in many places throughout the district.

The tunnel of Saint Anthony of Padua near Klabava was built in 1670 and became the most important source of iron ore for the Klabava ironworks. Starý zámek is the ruin of a medieval guard castle near Klabava railway station; the guard castle was used to monitor operations in the local mines.

The Ejpovice water tunnels were completed in 1958 and are 1,500 meters long. One of the Ejpovice water tunnels is used as a water supply channel for a hydroelectric power station.

Svatý Martin, a church, is located in the vicinity of Klabava, as is the church Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral. In the wider regional vicinity of Klabava are Zřícenina Valdek, a ruin, and U Svatého Petra, a church.

Event

The traditional celebration of Klabava Day was scheduled for August 8, 2026, at the clubhouse of the municipal office; Brontosauři revival and Katapult Revival were scheduled to play for dancing and listening.
