Těškov: Hotels and Accommodation

Těškov lies in a depression open towards the southeast and is surrounded by forests. The first written references to Těškov date from the 14th century.

Landscape and surroundings

Iron ore was mined on Mount Radeč near Těškov. The mountains Hřeben, Hlava, Beran and Holý vrch are also located in the vicinity of Těškov. In the wider regional area are the ruins of Valdek Castle and Týřov Castle.

History and architecture

At the former castle site of Hrad Radeč, an arched ditch, an earthen rampart and small wall remains have been preserved. The archaeological site of Hrad Radeč in Těškov is considered an important archaeological locality. Hrad Radeč is mentioned in 1343 in connection with Oldřich de Mitterwald from the noble family of the Lords of Litice.

The rural farmstead No. 21 in Těškov comprises a residential house, a barn, stables and a shed complex. A distinctive wooden bell tower stands on the village square in Těškov.

Těškov has a rare, well-preserved polygonal wooden chapel with a memorial cross; it documents this type of construction in the rural area of the Rokycany District. The chapel dates from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The memorial cross standing in front of the chapel probably dates from the second half of the 19th century.

The Church of Saint Martin and the Church of U Svatého Petra are located in the vicinity of Těškov.

Routes and event

There is a signpost for hiking trails on the village square in Těškov; it also provides a connection to the marked cycle route 2153.

The 11th Těškovská Traktoriáda will take place on 5 September 2026 at 12:00 noon.
