Lestkov is located 11 km east of Planá on the road to Konstantinovy Lázně.
Nature
The U rybníčků nature reserve is located in the cadastral area of Lestkov and covers 9.86 hectares. It protects a wet meadow with typical communities and occurrences of specially protected plant species. The eastern part of the cadastral area lies within Hadovka Nature Park. A protected wild service tree also stands in the valley of the Kosí potok.
Hiking
The Kosí potok educational trail is 8 km long and has 13 stops. Its first stop is located near the former settlement of Caltov on the road from Planá to Lestkov. The Kosí potok educational trail passes the remains of several mills; the only preserved complex is a former paper mill below Kořen.
History and Culture
The first written mention of Lestkov dates from 1257. In 1524, Lestkov was granted brewing rights, and in 1527, permission to hold two annual markets.
The Church of St. Procopius stands on a slightly elevated hill on the southwest side of Lestkov’s elongated village square. Medieval masonry has been preserved at the corners of its tower. Following restoration work that began in 2003, the church is completely roofed; during repairs, it was almost entirely rebuilt in the Baroque style.
The statue of Saint Anthony of Padua in Lestkov is a protected monument. The protected rural property No. 84 in Lestkov includes a granary.
