Ostřetice: Hotels and Accommodation

Ostřetice is situated in a hilly agricultural landscape on the northeastern edge of the Klatovy Basin. Since 1995, the village has been designated a village heritage zone.

Culture and History

The village chapel in Ostřetice is already marked on maps of the stable cadastre from the first third of the 19th century. It has a square floor plan, a pyramidal roof and a polygonal bell turret.

A chapel of late Baroque origin has been preserved by the road on the northeastern edge of Ostřetice. At house no. 14, there is a preserved granary with narrow ventilation openings and a later hipped roof.

At the roadside on the northwestern edge of Ostřetice stands a stone, cylindrical wayside shrine dating from 1840, with an iron cross; it bears the local name „St. Martin“.

The Les Mýtě archaeological area in Ostřetice is designated as an archaeological site. It comprises a group of more than thirty burial mounds; the part in the field has been ploughed up.

Landscape

The wooded hills around Ostřetice include Hora, at an elevation of approximately 483.9 metres. The Běleč hill, Buzrakov hill (Plánický hřeben) and Úliště hill [Javor - Loučany] are located in the vicinity of Ostřetice. Pohoří hill is located in the wider regional surroundings of Ostřetice.

Cycling Connections

Cycle route No. 2076 connects Ostřetice with Točník. The cycling tour „From Klatovy through beautiful countryside to Plánice – birthplace of inventor F. Křižík“, which is approximately 34 kilometres long, passes through Ostřetice.

The cycling tour between Klatovy and Plánice follows cycle paths and lightly trafficked Class II roads. On the section of the tour from Klatovy via Ostřetice to Petrovičky, the route follows Road No. 191 and features gentle ascents and descents.
