Přimda: Hotels and Accommodation
Přimda combines the ruins of a castle declared a national cultural monument with educational trails through the history and nature of the Bohemian Forest. The townscape is complemented by the Church of Saint George, several cycling and hiking trails, and a swimming pool with a sauna, relaxation area, and various pools.
History and Culture
The ruins of Přimda Castle were declared a national cultural monument by the government in 1962. From the beginning, the castle also served as a state prison.
The Church of Saint George stands in the center of Přimda, on the eastern edge of Republic Square. An octagonal Gothic stone baptismal font is built into the exterior of the south wall of its church tower. The church also preserves masonry from the originally Romanesque nave.
The Přimda Museum is freely accessible with a key issued at the information center. Guided tours can also be arranged by prior agreement. The museum is a member of a network of agricultural museums.
Educational Trails and Routes
The Přimda Castle Educational Trail features 10 interesting stops and 7 interactive educational stations for children. The trail leads through the history and natural attractions of Přimda and its surroundings, through the picturesque nature of the Bohemian Forest, and along natural, geological, and historical sites.
The Přimdská Educational Trail is more than 7 kilometers long and features 12 thematic stations dedicated to the history of the town of Přimda and the Kolowrat-Krakowský family. Several cycling and hiking trails also pass through the town of Přimda.
