Pnovany: Hotels and Accommodations

The Chapel of St. Anna Samotřetí in Pňovany has existed since the Gothic period. The Chapel of St. Anna is a filial church of the Nýřany parish. After 14 years of restoration work, it reopened and was solemnly consecrated on October 19, 2019. The pilgrimage to St. Anna is one of the traditional events in Pňovany.

Culture and History

Pňovany's sights include a Baroque château dating from the mid-18th century. The château in Pňovany was declared a cultural monument in 1958 and 1964, respectively. The Jewish cemetery in Pňovany is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. It is located in a forest south of Pňovany, on the far side of the Hracholuský stream. The ruins of Buben Castle are freely accessible.

Landscape and Water

The forest educational trail is 7.4 km long. The area around the Hracholusky Reservoir is frequently used for hiking and cycling. Boat trips are offered on the Hracholusky Reservoir.

Geographical Location

The Pňovany Bridge is a railway bridge over the Hracholusky Reservoir on the line from Pňovany to Bezdružice. Construction of the Pňovany Bridge began in 1899 and was fully completed in 1901. When the valley was flooded by the Hracholusky Reservoir in 1963, the height of the Pňovany Bridge was reduced to 37 meters.

The Hracholusky Reservoir can be reached via Pňovany railway station; from there, continue on foot or by bicycle.
