Loza: Hotels and accommodations

The first written mention of Loza appears in a document from 1216.

History and culture

After 1381, Loza belonged to the Bělá estate of the Lords of Švanberk. Remains of the stone walls of the Lords of Loza’s fortress have been preserved beside the road and above the cemetery. Otík of Loza is also part of the local history: he was an important Hussite military commander.

Loza is considered the birthplace of mariáš tournaments. The first volený mariáš festival took place in Loza in 1976.

Events

The 13th edition of the Memoriál Jana Drofy was scheduled to take place at the Loza swimming pool on August 22, 2026. Firefighting competitions were announced there for the afternoon. From June 26 to 28, 2026, Koupák Loza was also scheduled to take place as a concert of alternative music at the Loza swimming pool.

Nature and the village landscape

Forests near Loza offer mushrooms, bilberries, and cranberries. A chapel behind the bridge toward Tlučná is probably the oldest surviving building in the cadastral area of Loza. The Bělá stream flows through meadows along the southern edge of the village.

Swimming pool and refreshments

The Loza swimming pool complex includes a court for nohejbal or tennis. The complex is used for recreation and sports by local residents and visitors. Restaurant Loza at Loza 8 is open year-round and offers daily menus and hot meals.
