Vejvanov: Hotels and Accommodation

Vejvanov features a preserved village structure and a mining history spanning centuries. The first written record of the village dates back to 1379. The original village settlement is concentrated around a long, elongated village green with a pond.

Village Structure and History

Eight timber-framed farmsteads have been preserved in Vejvanov. Some of the timber-framed farmhouses are immovable cultural monuments. The history of Pajzov is also connected with mining: Pajzov was originally a mining settlement. Hard coal was mined beneath Vejvanov and in its surroundings for centuries.

Historic Farmstead

Rural farmstead No. 14 in Vejvanov is a protected cultural monument and has been under heritage protection since 3 May 1958. It includes a timber-framed residential building with a three-axis façade. The rear courtyard is enclosed by a timber-framed barn.

Nature and Landscape

Part of the Vejvanov municipal area extends into Radeč Nature Park. In the landscape, Babská skála and Hadí vrch form a distinctive, continuously forested watershed ridge. Babská skála lies at an elevation of 564 metres, and Hadí vrch at 545 metres.

Educational Trail

The “Za permoníky Chomle a Vejvanova” educational trail leads from Chomle to Vejvanov. It is 4.5 kilometres long and has nine stations.

Surroundings

The Church of Svatý Martin is located in the immediate vicinity of Vejvanov. The hill of Rovnička [Radnice u Rokycan] and the hill of Hrádek [Radnice u Rokycan] are also located nearby. The Church of U Svatého Petra is located in the vicinity of Vejvanov.

The wider regional surroundings of Vejvanov include the Týřov ruins, Holý vrch mountain, Hřeben mountain, and the Zřícenina Valdek ruins.

Event

The “Staročeské máje” event, featuring the raising of the maypole, was announced for 1 and 2 May 2026 at Vejvanovská náves in Vejvanov.
