Vranovská pláž and the dam form a recreational destination southwest of Štítary. The area of Vranovská pláž extends across three cadastral areas: Štítary na Moravě, Onšov na Moravě, and Vranov nad Dyjí. The Vranovská pláž site offers sports and recreational facilities.
Štítary is a starting point for holidaymakers heading to the beaches on the Vranov Reservoir and to the holiday cottage settlements located along the reservoir. Marked long-distance and local cycling routes run through the municipality of Štítary. There are also marked hiking trails in the municipality.
Nature
The Orlí hnízdo Nature Monument is located in the cadastral area of Štítary and covers 15.7505 hectares. Its conservation objectives include low xerothermic shrub communities with species of the genus Cotoneaster, Hercynian oak-hornbeam forests, scree forests, chasm vegetation on silicate rocks and in rock scree, mobile scree slopes made of silicate rock, and rock vegetation with Festuca pallens.
Protected insects include the critically endangered clouded apollo Parnassius mnemosyne, the endangered stag beetle Lucanus cervus, and the endangered great capricorn beetle Cerambyx cerdo.
Culture
The tower of St. George's Church houses three bells. The current main altar of St. George's Church was acquired in 1893. House No. 49 is an original farmstead with a granary.
