Babice Nad Svitavou: Hotels and Accommodation
Nature
The Čihadlo Nature Reserve protects natural deciduous forests on Devonian limestone and loess deposits, as well as surface and underground karst formations.
Malá Macocha, an important paleokarst site, is located on the northwestern edge of Babice nad Svitavou. Today, it consists of three interconnected depressions approximately 8 metres deep and is also a disused iron ore mine. It was excavated to a depth of approximately 42 metres through several relatively narrow vertical shafts.
The Babická plošina lies in the central part of the Moravian Karst, covers approximately 9 square kilometres and is situated at an average elevation of about 500 metres above sea level. Around 20 caves are known on the Babická plošina. The entrance to Babická jeskyně lies above the Babice–Kanice road and just a few metres below the surface of the Babická plošina.
