Culture

Among the visible landmarks of the village is the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, which is a registered cultural monument of Kojátky. Kojátky Château was originally built as a fortress in the 16th century and was converted in 1834 into a single-storey building with a chapel. In the Kaštanov district stands a Baroque stone sculpture of Saint John of Nepomuk from the 18th century.

At the cadastral boundary between Kojátky and Bohaté Málkovice lies a cross called “Stoleťák”. In the past, citizens went to this cross in Marian processions. Another cross at the Kojátky–Bučovice–Vyškov crossroads bears witness to a tragic event on 23 June 1973. Most cultural events in Kojátky are held outdoors, particularly in the garden of the former brewery.

Nature

The Site of Community Importance CZ0624062 – Černecký a Milonický hájek extends into the municipality of Kojátky in a narrow strip; this strip lies about 1 km from the existing built-up area. Černecký a Milonický hájek is a regionally significant, species-rich area with numerous specially protected species and Red List species. The area comprises semi-natural dry grasslands and shrub formations on calcareous substrates.

Paths and Transport

A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Kojátky. A red-marked hiking trail runs near the western edge of Kojátky; a local cycling route also passes through the village. Bus route 644 connects Bučovice and Kojátky. On road 431, the “Kojátky rozcestí” stop provides a bus connection to Vyškov; route 156 operates on the Vyškov – Hlubočany – Bohdalice–Pavlovice – Bučovice route.
