Nature
Kamenný vrch u Kurdějova is one of the most important complexes of steppe dry grasslands in South Moravia; it is home to protected plant and butterfly species. The area features representative stands of sub-Pannonian steppe dry grasslands (T3.3A) and broad-leaved dry grasslands (T3.4D and T3.4C), making it one of the most valuable xerothermic vegetation sites in South Moravia.
The Lipiny Natural Monument is an important feature of Kurdějov’s landscape character and is home to numerous rare and endangered plant and animal species. Three hiking routes and four cycling routes run through Kurdějov and its cadastral area.
Culture
The Church of St John the Baptist in Kurdějov was first mentioned around 1350. The fortified church complex includes a free-standing bell tower, the All Saints Chapel, an ossuary and a defensive wall. Tours of the complex are available by prior arrangement.
Events and wine
Okus vÃn takes place in KurdÄ›jov every year as a community cultural event. Art Wine Hall offers a wine tasting with a walk through the vineyard and seven ARONN sparkling wines. The experience also includes pairing the wine tasting with selected dishes and a demonstration of oyster opening. It concludes with a tour of the winery, another tasting and a certificate.
