Kostice: Hotels and Accommodation

Kostice combines a rich tradition of cultural events with small sacral buildings and landscapes along the Morava River. Bahenní párty is a traditional three-day music and motorcycle event in Kostice, held since 1995.

Nature

The eastern part of Kostice’s cadastral area lies in the floodplain of the Morava River. The 31 km-long cycle route from Břeclav to Hodonín also runs through flat terrain along the Morava River.

Culture

The Chapel of Saint Theresa was built in 1857 and consecrated in 1861. It stands at a crossroads leading towards Břeclav, Lanžhot and Tvrdonice. In 2021, the chapel received a new ornamental pattern adorning all four sides.

The local sacral landscape also includes the former Chapel of the Holy Cross. It was demolished in 1930 and rebuilt a little farther away. Balíkových kaplička stands on the border between Kostice and Lanžhot. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is also located near the Chapel of Saint Theresa.

The traditional village house contains a museum that would like to participate in the “Víkend památkových domků” project. This project traditionally takes place at the beginning of June.

Events and Local Cuisine

Kostický rybník is a fishing area managed by the Kostice local branch of the Moravian Anglers’ Union. Twice a year, Kostický rybník hosts a spring and an autumn gathering for anglers and non-anglers.

During the summer holidays, local residents and visitors from elsewhere can enjoy fried and smoked fish at Rybářský výlet.
