Morkůvky: Hotels and Accommodation

The Hrádek Nature Reserve is located in the cadastral area of Morkůvky. It protects forest-steppe plants, with naturally preserved populations of numerous protected plant species.

Culture

The Museum of Lieutenant General František Peřina was established in the building of a former kindergarten and commemorates a legendary pilot of the Second World War. Visits to the museum must be arranged in advance. The Vavřinecké krojované hody festival takes place every year on the third Sunday in August.

History and Townscape

The Hrádek archaeological site in Morkůvky is located near the Hrádek Nature Reserve and still features preserved ramparts and ditches. A free-standing bell tower dating from the 18th century stands above Morkůvky’s small village square. The triangular wayside cross in Morkůvky is listed in the Czech Republic’s state register of protected monuments under number 1575.

Exploring the Area

The Velkopavlovická Wine Trail runs through Morkůvky. Near the centre of Morkůvky, it features a rest area with a reconstructed historic wine press where cyclists can stop.
