Perná: Hotels and Accommodation

The parish church of Saint Nicholas in Perná was built between 1510 and 1583 on the site of an earlier chapel. It has a 42.5-metre-high, four-sided tower with a lower tower-like round structure dating from 1767; inside, a historic stone baptismal font from the first half of the 15th century has been preserved.

Northwest of Perná stands the Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua, built in 1652. It was associated with famous and heavily attended pilgrimages; in 1786, it was abolished by an imperial decree. The Trinity group on the village square dates from 1865. The New Empire-style fountain in Perná was built in 1902 and served as a watering trough for horses.

Winegrowing in Perná dates back to the 14th century. A viticultural breeding station was established here in 1946; in 1979, the breeding of the “Pálava” grape variety was achieved as the first major success at the national level. The traditional costumed Bartolomějské hody festival takes place in Perná from 21 to 23 August 2026.

The western part of Perná’s cadastral area is planted with vineyards as well as apricot and peach orchards. Above Perná rise the romantic ruins of Sirotčí hrad Castle. In the parts of the Pálava landscape bordering Perná, there is a dense network of marked hiking trails, supplemented in many places by educational trail information boards; numerous protected plant and animal species occur there.
