Rudka lies in a valley on both banks of the Bobrava. The Bobrava rises in a forest near Rudka.

Nature and trails

The first section of the educational trail “Naučná stezka Rudka” was established in June 2015 with five stations, running from the municipal office to the source of the Bobrava. The second section, with the remaining five stations, was completed in 2016.

The “Stezka pro zdraví” health trail in Rudka includes fitness, balance and climbing elements for adults, seniors, children and young people. The trail also includes a zip line, benches, litter bins and information boards about the individual elements.

History and culture

Only remnants of the ramparts and walls remain from the former Hrádek fortress, which had disappeared by no later than the Thirty Years’ War. Silver was mined in the Prachová cadastral area in the Middle Ages; iron ore was also extracted there until the middle of the 19th century.

A historic bell tower stands in the center of Rudka. In Rudka, a small bell with a Czech inscription and the year 1715 hangs from a wooden structure. The birthplace of Josef Juran in Rudka has been designated a cultural monument.

In spring 2002, scenes for the television series “Černí baroni” were filmed in a local pub in Rudka.

Local life

In mid-August, the local volunteer fire brigade in Rudka organizes parish fair entertainment events. In Rudka, the Feast of Saint Procopius, patron saint of the bell, was celebrated annually with a mass followed by a communal meal, conversation and singing.
