Bžany was first mentioned in writing in 1303.

Culture and History

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary was built in 1760 in the High Baroque style. In 1834, it was renovated at the expense of Anton Rank, a farmer from House No. 1; to this day, it remains a significant landmark of the municipality of Bžany.

Špýchar No. 3 is a Baroque agricultural farm complex and an example of folk architecture from the second half of the 18th century and the early 19th century. As a closed farm complex, it preserves a dwelling house, a granary, a barn, and a farm building.

Nature and Trails

Supí vrch above Lbín features a preserved rock-steppe habitat with 22 known endangered species of higher plants.

The Supí vrch educational trail is approximately half a kilometre long and has four information panels. It ends at a panoramic panel offering views of the landscape of the Central Bohemian Uplands around its highest mountain, Milešovka, and of the Bílina valley.

Bukovická vyhlídka can be reached via local paths and is suitable for pedestrians and cyclists. It is situated in a natural setting near Bukovice and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. It is suitable as a destination for a short walk or as a stopover on longer hiking trails in the vicinity of the municipality.
