Nature

A significant part of Košťany’s cadastral area lies in the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory). The preserved torso of the Ludvíkův dub oak tree is worth a visit.

Trails

The “Za zatopenými doly a skláři” route begins and ends at Mírové náměstí in Košťany. It is especially suitable for children aged five and over. It is not suitable for families with prams.

Culture and History

The hunting lodge of the Lobkowicz family is located 1 km north of Košťany’s square; the access road leads via “K zámku” Street in Střelná. The hunting lodge is suitable as a destination for shorter walks, but it is currently not open to the public.

Station 12 of the “Zmizelé Košťany” walk refers to the Vyzdvižení sv. kříže Church, which was built in the Pseudo-Romanesque style between 1859 and 1861.

Mount Bouřňák is located in the immediate vicinity of Košťany. The surroundings of Košťany include Osek Monastery, Mount Stropnik, the ruins of Hrad Kysperk, Mount Vlčí hora, Mount Scharspitze and the ruins of Sukoslav. The Osterzgebirge Wildlife Park is a zoo in the vicinity of Košťany.
