Chotiměř: Hotels and Accommodation

The Oparenský Express currently operates on part of the over 120-year-old Lovosice–Teplice railway line in Bohemia, running as far as Chotiměř. The railway line passes near Chotiměř, and the walk to the station takes less than ten minutes.

Landscape and Water

From Chotiměř, there are views of the surrounding peaks of Kletečná, Kubačka, Lovoš and Milešovka. The village is surrounded by orchards, agricultural land and nearby forests.

The nearby Oparenské Valley is approximately 6 km long and stretches from Velemín to Malé Žernoseky. The Milešovský Stream flows through the valley; there are also wet meadows and metamorphic and igneous rocks exposed by erosion. The Chotiměřský Stream flows through Chotiměř, joins the Milešovský Stream and subsequently flows into the Elbe.

Culture and Local History

Chotiměř's local cultural heritage includes the Baroque Chapel of St John of Nepomuk from the late 18th century. The chapel on Opuce stands on the road from Chotiměř to Velemín and has been restored to its original form. It was probably built around the middle of the 19th century using an older stone cross that had been erected there in 1759.

The restored Oparenský Mill, also known as Konrad's Mill and Deutschmühle, is considered a centre for environmental education. The ruins of Oparno Castle stand above the Oparenské Valley; they date from the 13th century.

The tradition of two strongholds in Chotiměř inspired the current municipal flag and coat of arms.

Events

The T-Mobile Olympijský běh has been held in Chotiměř repeatedly. The routes were designed for children and adults and led through the Oparenské Valley. In 2026, the Chotiměřský Masopust was held for the seventh time, with a procession through the village.
