Dolní Habartice: Hotels and Accommodation

Dolní Habartice lies in the České středohoří landscape area and in the valley of the Bystrá stream. The entire municipal area lies on the edge of the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area (CHKO České středohoří).

Landscape

The settlement stretches across the flat valley floodplain along the Bystrá. The stream comes from Horní Habartice, flows through Dolní Habartice onward to Benešov nad Ploučnicí, and joins the Ploučnice there. Pastures and agricultural land cover most of Dolní Habartice; forests along the western and eastern cadastral boundaries protect the municipal area. The surrounding countryside consists of fields, meadows, and mixed forests.

History

Dolní Habartice was established during the German colonization of the area around 1281. Until 1945, the settlement was known as Nieder Ebersdorf. Jakub Dórfel built a mill near House No. 76. Dórfel's property formed the core of the Kranach farmsteads; the farmstead was later replaced by a manorial farm with Manor House No. 1. On June 1, 1928, a railway stop was opened in Dolní Habartice.

Events

A Masopustní průvod is part of Dolní Habartice's recurring cultural program and is scheduled for February. Prohabacup is a family-team competition held in Dolní Habartice in July. A Zahradní slavnost with dancing is also part of the recurring cultural program and is scheduled for August.

A traditional kite-flying competition was held at the sports field in Dolní Habartice; Špekáčky sausages for roasting and lemonade were provided for children.

Cycling Route

The “Jedlová Hora – Markvartice – Benešov nad Ploučnicí” cycling route passes through Dolní Habartice, partly along a district road and local paths beside the Markvartický stream. The route can be started in any town along the Děčín – Benešov nad Ploučnicí – Česká Kamenice – Jedlová regional tourist railway line.
