Jenčice: Hotels and Accommodation

Jenčice is located in the Central Bohemian Uplands along the Lovosice–Most route. Košťál is a 488-meter-high basalt hill crowned by the distinctive Košťálov ruins.

Landscape and Nature

The Košťál nature monument is home to heat-loving communities on the volcanic rocks of the Central Bohemian Uplands. A rare wild service tree also grows in the cadastral area of Jenčice.

Hiking and Cycling

Košťálov is now a freely accessible castle ruin on a green-marked hiking trail and offers sweeping views from its rocky promontory. From Třebenice, a green-marked hiking route leads approximately 3.3 kilometers to Košťálov. Cycling route No. 25 Jezerní runs around Mount Košťál.

History

Košťálov Castle was probably built in the 14th century, was first documented in 1372, and had already been abandoned at the beginning of the 17th century.

The Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Jenčice is not accessible to people with reduced mobility; regular services are not held there. The Chapel of St. Anne near Košťálov has the address Jenčice. Regular services are not held there either; it is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
