Litvínov: Hotels and Accommodation

In the historic part of Litvínov, the Early Baroque Church of the Archangel Michael is a dominant landmark. It was built between 1685 and 1694 according to plans by J. B. Mathey. The complex includes the rectory at No. 38, a staircase leading from the square to the church’s main entrance, and a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in the rectory courtyard.

Culture

The Valdštejnů Chateau is located at No. 1 Mostecká Street, near Míru Square in Litvínov. The present-day Baroque Valdštejnů Chateau was rebuilt between 1732 and 1743; its distinctive appearance was shaped by the architect František Maxmilián Kaňka. The building houses exhibitions on sculptures by Stanislav Hanzík, Litvínov’s count-owned cloth manufactory, and the history of Hush toy manufacturing in Litvínov. The Chateau Park was laid out in the English style in 1878 and covers eight hectares.

Voigtovy sady adjoin the rear of the Church of the Archangel Michael. Smetanova Street is home to a group of five recently reconstructed Art Nouveau houses built between 1901 and 1906. Koldům is a technical and architectural monument of European significance in Litvínov.

Leisure

The publicly accessible sports and leisure complex around Koldům includes a multi-purpose sports hall, a public outdoor swimming pool, and tennis and volleyball courts. The public programme at Citadela Litvínov includes film screenings, a film club, concerts, and other events.

Koupaliště Litvínov has a 50-metre outdoor swimming pool with a water slide. There are also sand and grass playing areas that can be used for volleyball, handball, football, or dodgeball. The Loučky cultural and sports complex has a small and a large open-air stage for concerts.
