Svinčice: Hotels and Accommodation

Svinčice is associated with equestrian sports. The cadastral area of Svinčice belongs to the Bohemian Central Uplands; the village lies in a small hollow carved into the northern slope of the broad, open valley of the Lužický potok.

Nature

The occurrence of the pasque flower (Pulsatilla pratensis) has been documented in the Svinčice area. The municipality of Lužice is part of the Most–Doksy cycle route network.

History

Svinčice was first mentioned in 1207 as property of the Cistercian monastery in Osek. Later, a fortress was built on an estate in Svinčice, initially owned by the Štampach family. Archaeological investigations revealed settlement traces from the Late Stone Age and the Bronze Age. Settlement traces from the Early Middle Ages were also found in the centre of Svinčice.

Culture and Leisure

Equipark Svinčice includes spacious horse stables and an indoor riding arena. From there, rides lead into the surroundings of the Zlatník, Zeleňák and Bořeň mountains and farther into the Bohemian Central Uplands. Leisure and tourist rides are offered in Svinčice.

The riding arena in Svinčice, together with the arena in Prešov, was one of the first in Czechoslovakia to be built for full competition and training operations. It served as a training venue for Jiří Pecháček and Andrej Glatz while preparing for the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. Beginners can receive basic riding instruction at Equipark Svinčice in the indoor riding arena under the guidance of instructors and trainers.
