Kostice Nad Ohrí: Hotels and Accommodation

In the historic center of Radonice nad Ohří, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross stands on a slight elevation above the Ohře, on the site of a medieval church.

Culture and Local History

The single-nave, masonry church was built in the pseudo-Gothic style with Neo-Romanesque elements. It was constructed from 1905 to 1907 according to a design by the Louny architect and master builder František David. Its interior has been preserved almost unchanged and features richly painted vegetal and figurative motifs, as well as the original furnishings.

The church grounds include a cemetery with numerous old Czech gravestones, including gravestones of clergymen. Outside the enclosed church grounds, at the northwestern foot of the church hill below the stone cemetery wall, stands the Baroque statue of Saint Linhart, also known as Leonard. It dates from the first half of the 18th century and is freely accessible.

The late Baroque rectory in Radonice nad Ohří was built in 1782. It features a stone cartouche with the Strahov coat of arms, as well as a small gable with two sculptures of kneeling saints above the central upper-floor window. A commemorative plaque recalls the work of the Premonstratensian patriotic poet Boleslav Jablonský in Radonice nad Ohří.
