Brody: Hotels and Accommodation

North of Brody lies the grounds of the Baroque château. This Baroque château complex was built on the site of a 16th-century fortress. The archaeological area of the Brody château complex is classified as ÚAN I and spans the period from the Middle Ages to the modern era.

Culture and History

Brody was first mentioned in writing in 1403, at that time as part of Buškovice. After 1552, Jan Fremut the Younger built a Renaissance fortress in Brody. The Baroque château of Brody has a chapel dedicated to Saint Barbara. Near the village centre, at an intersection by a chapel, there is a column with a statue of Saint Barbara.

Park and Landscape

The Krásný Dvůr château park lies on the slope above the Leskovský potok stream between the château and Brody and is a registered significant landscape element. In terms of area, it is one of the largest English landscape parks in Bohemia and includes Romantic landscape structures.

The Krásný Dvůr château park can be visited independently and without a guide all year round; admission is free.

Nature

The Krásný Dvůr area is an important entomological site and a refuge for the hermit beetle (Osmoderma eremita).

Cycling

The “Circuit around Lubenec” is a 67.2 km route of moderate difficulty for road bikes and trekking bikes.
