Nature and Trails
The “Okolí Telnice” trail leads over steep climbs and offers impressive views. Along the way, coniferous and deciduous forests alternate with sunny, vegetation-covered meadows and shaded streams lined with ferns. Protected natural areas containing rare plant species are located around Telnice.
Pond and Terrain
Oprám Pond was created from the former Gustav mine. At Oprám Pond, there is an obstacle course called “Ninja Factor” that runs across the surface of the water.
The Telnické MTB trails cross the “Okolí Telnice” trail and lead to a pond.
History and Architectural Heritage
The Church of St. Joseph in Telnice was designed in the neo-Gothic style. It is 15 m long and 9 m wide, was completed in autumn 1910, and consecrated on October 23, 1910, by the Bishop of Litoměřice, Dr. Josef Groß.
The Varvažovský Cross is considered the oldest monument commemorating the battles of 1813 at Chlumec, Přestanov, and Varvažov. The Varvažovský rozcestník, also called Pyrám, is a small but significant monument to the history of road signage in the region.
The path leading to the “Monument in the Wide Forest” was renamed “Leonhard's” at that time.
Varvažov
The Stará pošta building in Varvažov was constructed between 1814 and 1817 and now serves as the Stará pošta guesthouse and restaurant.
Transport
The single-track regional railway Kozí dráha currently ends in Telnice.
