Vchynice is associated with a Neolithic rondel that is more than 7,000 years old. The Vchynice rondel has a diameter of 43 metres; its entrances are precisely aligned with the cardinal directions.
Culture and History
The Chapel of St. Wenceslas is a stone-built structure with a rectangular floor plan and a semicircular apse. It is located in the eastern part of Vchynice above the village green. The keystone of its stone portal bears the year 1803. Vchynice is also home to the late Baroque statue of St. Wenceslas on a tall prismatic pedestal.
Vchynice gave its name to the noble family of Vchynský, also known as Kinský.
Landscape and Nature
Vchynice lies at the foot of the České středohoří highlands. The protected service tree “Oskeruše u Radostic” is located near a settlement on the edge of a wooded area.
