Lovosice: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of Peace of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church is one of the defining urban features of Lovosice and is classified as a cultural monument.

Culture

St. Wenceslas Church in Lovosice is a single-nave, rectangular building with a tower above the façade. Its furnishings are predominantly Rococo in style and date from the second half of the 18th century.

The Pfannschmidt Villa in Lovosice was built from 1881 and completed around 1887. It preserves restored stucco ceilings, richly decorated ceiling paintings, wood paneling, and a surviving example of an original tiled stove. Lectures, discussion groups, exhibitions, and concerts are regularly held in the historic Pfannschmidt Villa.

LOVO Gallery in Lovosice is intended as a space for the development of contemporary art and for presenting collections by important artists.

History

The castle in Lovosice, originally built in the Renaissance style, was constructed between 1545 and 1574. The castle is currently used for educational purposes. In front of the Renaissance castle, the site of the demolished farmyard is now home to a municipal park with two pavilions.

Nature and Activities

Lesopark Osmička has two tracks for runners and inline skaters, measuring 500 meters and 1 kilometer in length. The forest park also has a children's playground and an outdoor gym.

A green-marked hiking trail leads from Lovosice to Lovoš. A cycle path leads from Lesopark Osmička to the ferry to Malé Žernoseky.

Ferry Connections

A new vessel named Agnes was acquired for the ferry service between Lovosice and Píšťany; it offers more space for strollers and bicycles.
