Vinařice: Hotels and Accommodation

Vinařice is located in the Džbán Nature Park. The Pochválovský potok stream flows through the village, while the sloping fields around Vinařice are bordered by wooded areas. At the same time, the village is associated with the cultivation of high-quality hops in the Žatec hop-growing region.

Culture and History

The Church of St. Giles in Vinařice is listed as an immovable cultural monument. The church was built around the middle of the 14th century as a parish church; the chancel has been preserved, while the nave and tower were added during the Baroque period. It is a single-nave building constructed predominantly from ashlar marl, with a chancel terminating on five sides of a regular octagon and a tower on the west side.

At the site known as Na zámku above Vinařice, remains of fortifications and collapsed cellars of the former Vinařický Castle have been preserved. After the fortress in nearby Divice was converted into a château in the 16th century, Vinařický Castle was abandoned; it fell into disrepair and eventually disappeared completely.

The Church of U Svatého Gotharda and the ruins of Pravda Castle are located in the vicinity of Vinařice. Further afield in the region are the ruins of Hazmburk and Hrádek.

Landscape and Nature

The Malý a Velký Štít National Nature Reserve is located in the immediate vicinity of Vinařice. Its habitats include ecosystems of marlstone rock edges and outcrops, as well as a rubble forest with numerous rare plants and animals, particularly evergreen bearberry.

The Džbán mountain, Pozdeňský les [Mšec] mountain and Loustín mountain are located in the vicinity of Vinařice. Further afield in the region is Raná mountain.
