Kozly: Hotels and Accommodation

The originally Gothic Church of St. Martin in Kozly was rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1717 and contains the Chotek family crypt.

Culture and History

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands in Kozly village square; it dates from the second quarter of the 18th century. Kozly Fortress is documented since 1382 and was abolished in 1623.

In the past, Kozly supplied the Prague chapter administration with wine sourced from Chrámce.

The Hradek Oltářík ruins are located in the vicinity of Kozly, as are the Sukoslav ruins. The wider surrounding region is home to the Hazmburk ruins and the “Osek monastery”.

Nature

The Tobiášův vrch nature monument protects a fragment of a rare steppe ecosystem with numerous endangered plant species and lies within the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. The protected plant life of Tobiášův vrch includes spring pheasant’s eye, Czech pasqueflower, greater pasqueflower, feather grass and slender grape hyacinth.

Číčov is an erosion remnant formed by volcanic activity; a distinctive protected plant community has been preserved on its substrate. Access to Číčov leads from the road via a walkable tourist trail; the site is located more than 250 metres from the road. Číčov is a mountain in the vicinity of Kozly.

A field path near Kozly passes close to Tobiášův vrch through an area of natural-science significance and is connected to a biocorridor as well as to elements of the Territorial System of Ecological Stability (ÚSES). Dlouhá, Líska and Brník are each mountains in the vicinity of Kozly.
