Vysoká Pec U Jirkova: Hotels and Accommodation
Vysoká Pec combines traces of mining with wooded nature and opportunities for sport and leisure.
History
The headframe of the former lignite mine has been preserved as a protected cultural monument. The Baroque Chapel of the Virgin Mary was built in 1904. The name Vysoká Pec is probably associated with a blast furnace located at the site of today’s settlement at the end of the 18th century and with workers’ accommodation.
Nature
The Jezerka Nature Reserve extends across the cadastral areas of Vysoká Pec and is exclusively forested. In the vicinity of Vysoká Pec, the area around Jezeřà Hill in the Jezerka Nature Reserve offers views of Jedlová hora, the valley of the Vesnický potok and the Jezeřà Reservoir.
The Tereza viewpoint is also located in the vicinity of Vysoká Pec, on a forest path leading towards the summit of Jedlová (853 m). From there, you can enjoy views of the Central Bohemian Uplands, Jezeřà Chateau and a nearby lignite mine.
Leisure
Vysoká Pec has the Koupaliště Vysoká Pec outdoor swimming pool. It offers parking spaces, bicycle racks, sanitary facilities, terraces, a children’s playground, workout equipment, a floodlit beach volleyball court, a floodlit multifunctional court and a table tennis table.
