Jindrichova Ves: Hotels and Accommodation

A hike leads through picturesque Jindřichova Ves and then gently climbs to the summit of Kamenná hůrka.

Hiking

The route follows the blue-marked trail along the edge of the Novodomské rašeliniště National Nature Reserve to Jelení vrch. The hiking trail parking area is located near the turnoff to the dead-end road leading to Jindřichova Ves.

A hike around Kalek includes a forest path lined with beech trees leading to Jindřichova Ves and its chapel. A historic route of the ridge trail ran through Kalek, Načetín and Jindřichova Ves in that order.

Cycling

In the wider region around Jindřichova Ves, the cycling tour offers views of Nový rybník, which is considered part of the characteristic landscape of the Ore Mountains. Culture

A chapel of its own was built in Jindřichova Ves in 1892 and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. This chapel was repaired in 1995. The façade of the Chapel of St. Anne in Jindřichova Ves was repaired and repainted as part of maintenance work.

The historic nail-making craft was widespread in Jindřichova Ves; there was a nail forge in almost every other house. The historic nail makers there apparently produced nearly all types of nails, including horseshoe, construction, ship and rail nails.

History

The historic occupations in Jindřichova Ves included, among others, stone quarrying and forestry work. Jindřichova Ves was founded in 1775, with Count Heinrich von Rottenhan involved in its establishment. Originally, it was a settlement of charcoal burners and forest workers.
