Cycle Route No. 16 runs through Brzkov on the route from Slavonice to Přibyslav. At the western edge of Brzkov’s cadastral area, a green-marked hiking trail also runs between Polná and Přibyslav.
Water and Landscape
South of Brzkov lies Mastník Pond. The valley of the Jablonský potok in Brzkov is a biologically diverse area where specially protected species occur. The corridor along the Skrýšovský potok is another defining landscape area in the Brzkov region.
The Vampolím area lies on the Bystřice River and contains two of the most significant bodies of water in the Brzkov planning area.
Culture and History
The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk in Brzkov was consecrated on May 13, 2012. The first surviving documentary mention of this chapel dates from 1831.
The chapel was built through voluntary community work; the “Skalka 2009” civic association acted as the developer, with more than 4,000 hours of work carried out. Services are held in the chapel every three weeks on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m.
In Brzkov, there is a metal cross on a shaped stone pedestal; at its foot is a relief of Our Lady of Sorrows.
