Strachoňovice lies in the valley of the Ochozín stream; below Strachoňovice, the stream flows into the Moravská Dyje.
Landscape
The Kleniční, Štamberk, Řásenský vrch and Mrhatina mountains are located in the surroundings of Strachoňovice. Cycle route 5124 also passes through the village. It is part of a cycling loop around Telč that continues as far as Radkov.
History and culture
Strachoňovice belonged to the Telč estate from 1390 to 1849. The Vetyškovský homestead has borne its name since the 16th century. The Bláhovská cottage was built on communal land in 1748.
Strachoňovice is home to a wayside shrine protected as a cultural monument, with registration number 15295/7-5229. The U Svatého Křiže Church is located in the nearby area; the U Svaté Magdalena Church is situated in the surroundings of Strachoňovice.
