Věžnička: Hotels and accommodations

A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Věžnička from Jihlava via Polná to Žďár nad Sázavou. The village is also home to the old underground cellars of Věžnička, known as Lochy, mainly around the village square and along the main road. The Lochy are considered to be carefully maintained and still in use.

Routes and access

A marked, 10-kilometre hiking route leads across the meadows in front of Věžnička into the village to a signpost. The hiking route leaves Věžnička via a lightly trafficked road.

KČT cycling route No. 16 runs from Ždírec to Věžnička and then through the forests of Březina to Polná. Věžnička can be reached via Class III road No. 34820 from Polná and via a local road from Ždírec.

Culture and villagescape

The chapel of Věžnička stands in a small park next to the village pond. Its bell tower has a hand-operated bell. A framed statue of the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus stands in a niche on the rear wall of the chapel.

Several farmhouses in Věžnička feature a style associated with the second half of the 19th century.

History

The Věžnička reconciliation stone stands in the municipal forest about 1 kilometre northwest of the village and approximately 500 metres from the Jamenský potok stream. In 1778, Věžnička was granted the privilege of an hereditary magistrate's office with all the rights of a magistrate.
