Ondřejov U Pelhřimova: Hotels and Accommodation

Ondřejov is a valley village with a radial layout and a spacious village green. The village was first mentioned in writing in 1406; its built-up area is recorded as a Category ÚAN II archaeological area dating from the Middle Ages to the modern era.

Villagescape and History

A chapel with a semicircular apse, a volute gable, a square bell tower and trefoil-shaped windows stands on the village green. It has been reconstructed and is registered under registration number 46057/3-3181.

The Želivka (Hejlovka) watercourse passes through the administrative territory of Ondřejov. Throughout the cadastral area of Ondřejov u Pelhřimova, there are several ponds and other bodies of water covering a total area of approximately 3.47 hectares. Hejlovský rybník is located in the cadastral area of Ondřejov u Pelhřimova and is legally classified as a significant landscape feature.

Mount Orlov lies in the immediate vicinity of Ondřejov. The surrounding area also includes Putimovský vrch, Troják and Bělský Kopec.

Culture in the Regional Area

The wider regional area around Ondřejov includes Želivský Kláštor Monastery, Janštejn Castle Ruins and Roštejn Castle [Doupě]. The Church of Svatá Anna is also located near Ondřejov.

Hiking and Transport

A hiking route from Zajíčkov to Pelhřimov follows a marked hiking trail and passes the St. Anna Chapel in Ondřejov, with its small bell tower and cross.

The section of Road I/34 between Božejov, Ondřejov and Pelhřimov has been opened to traffic. The 5.5-kilometre section was intended to make travel through the western part of Vysočina towards Jindřichův Hradec safer and smoother.
